Master teacher and printmaker Rocio Figuero will be teaching a printmaking workshop for beginners on wood (MDF) and intervening it with acrylic and/watercolor. $600 includes materials, coffee and dessert. Oct 30-31, 11-2pm.

Plática con Didier López Carpio y Tamara León
Desde una perspectiva femenina, Tamara León nos habla sobre la obra del maestro Didier López Carpio de la exposición Veleidad de la materia.
Tamara León es escritora. Estudió Lengua y Literaturas Hispánicas en la UniversidadNacional Autónoma de México. Tiene estudios de posgrado en Educación y está especializada en Psicopedagogía. Ha trabajado como periodista cultural, editora de publicaciones académicas y promotora de arte además de realizar museografía y curaduría para el Museo José Luis Cuevas, Museo Hospicio Cabañas, Museo de los Pintores Oaxaqueños entre otros. Escribe crítica de arte para México y otros países más la edición de libros de arte. Su obra poética y narrativa se ha publicado en diversos medios nacionales y de otros países, entre ellos, enla prestigiada asociación inglesa de escritores PEN International. Trabaja enconjunto con asociaciones civiles y colectivos para reforzar la identidadbiocultural y revalorizar la iconografía textil de Oaxaca.

Ellas, las que luchan. Exposicion de gráfica gran formato.
Exposición que reune el trabajo de 24 mujeres artístas en la gráfica en Oaxaca. Cada artísta plasma en su obra su declaración de lucha en el movimiento de consciencia hacia el trato, apariencia y valoración de la mujer en Oaxaca. Desde contar la trayectoria de mujeres luchadoras de nuestra historia, hasta su propia experiencia personal, estas artistas despliegan el fervor de continuar la lucha revolucionaria de derechos humanos, el ambiente y la espiritualidad no-dual. Las obras se realizaron en respuesta al Día Internacional de la Mujer, 2022.
Estas obras de gran formato, son expuestas sobre lienzos enmarcados en los espacios de Casa de Barro, Reforma 703, Oaxaca Centro.

The Oaxaca Learning Center will be presenting the results of the sales during the month of the event, and the goals met. They will also be featuring students of the Center to give testimonials of their successful involvement and achievements during their participation at the Center. TOLC Volunteers residing in Oaxaca will be encouraged to give their thoughts on post-COVID events and sharing ideas on future enrollment. You are welcome to participate as well!

Masters of Inspiration in Oaxaca
The Oaxaca Learning Center will be presenting two Oaxaca artists that are part of Red Dot Art Gallery, Esteban Urbieta and TBD. These two prodigious artists will be talking about their lives, how they were formed as artists, what styles they work in and why, and a bit about their present work displayed at the Gallery. They will also be discussing who are the major players of art in Oaxaca, who inspired and mentored them to become artists, and why they chose them. Be part of the conversation with your questions and comments live!
A presentation of their artwork will be featured at the same time and an opportunity to purchase them.
