Didier López Carpio

Biography

A painter by trade and a writer by emotion, he was born in Cd. Ixtepec, Oaxaca on October 15, 1976. Since he was a child he understood that images and words were the fair measure of his existence. So he ventured into studies in philosophy and letters and graphic design, at UNAM and Universidad Mesoamericana Oaxaca, respectively.

He has exhibited collectively and individually in various public and private spaces, galleries and museums locally (Oaxaca), national and international. Creditor of the Jóvenes Creadores scholarship from the Secretary of Culture of the State of Oaxaca in the category of painting, issues 2004 and 2007, and from the National Institute of Youth in digital graphics, 2006.

He is the author of the storybook Ámbar es la Botella, published by the Secretary of Culture of the state of Oaxaca and the novel Manca, soon to be published, as well as a couple of poetry plaques; he also appears published in anthologies (Praxis, Almadía) and literary magazines.

On several occasions he has collaborated with government women's institutions and ACs in workshops on gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights of young people, channeled on murals with students from regional high school schools.

He enjoys playing the guitar, musical composition, mezcal and, above all,

everything, from friends, family and good food.
